Meeting Grounds was opened in 2017 by two couples who were passionate about people + good coffee. It began in a historic downtown Shaunavon building that once served as both a bank and a sheriff’s office. In 2020, Meeting Grounds moved across the street to its current home within a side of the historic Shaunavon Plaza Theatre.
Since then, the coffeehouse has grown into more than just a place to grab your favourite drink it’s become a hub for gathering, creativity, and collaboration. Guests can enjoy fresh lunch options (prepared by the incredible local team at Harvest Eatery), delicious home-style baking from talented local bakers Haute Cakes and Ginger Fournier, and shop our thoughtfully curated boutique.
MG Boutique carries Canadian brands of clothing, Jellycat, home goods, zero-waste products, books, baby items + more. You’ll also find beautiful art pieces created by local artist Andrew Robertson and other local artisans displayed throughout the space.
In 2026, the owners proudly stepped into a new chapter by purchasing the historic Plaza Theatre, a beloved community gem that was family owned for generations. Now reopened, The Plaza is once again lighting up downtown Shaunavon with movies, live music, and special events, creating even more opportunities to gather, celebrate, and experience something special together.

OWNER + MG CREATOR
A dreamer and creator, Liz’s passion for bringing people together + making people feel welcome is what gave life to MG. Her spirit + enthusiasm will no doubt heighten your energy and put a smile on your face. No matter how busy, she always takes the time to check in on her family, friends + customers.
OPERATIONS MANAGER
From a small farm outside of Shaunavon, Athena spends most of her free time time reading and writing, or with her family! She loves her ducks, and mornings are her favourite (NOT).
BARISTA
Mores has lived on a farm near Shaunavon his whole life. His hobbies include beekeeping, hiking, and reading. Mores loves to listen to alt rock, metal, and grunge!
CO-OWNER + MG CREATOR
Partner to Lizzy, Ty is a crucial piece to the creation and envision of MG. His gravitating personality and energy stem from his love for people, inclusion + music. It is without a doubt that Ty’s positive attitude and flattering compliments will instantly brighten your day!
BARISTA & ARTIST
A cheerful + energetic personality, Anna is always ready to serve you with a smile! You’ll likely see her sporting an oversized band tee or a comfy sweater. When she’s not in the coffee shop you’ll find her working on the farm, spending time with her animals or creating pieces of art!
COFFEE GURU
Logan has been a lead on the MG team since it’s inception in 2017. Logan is known for making the best espresso, his noted taste in depressing music, and his gift of remembering people and their stories. MG would not be what it is without this guy, so be sure to say “Hi” to him next time you see him in the house.
BARISTA
Joyful, spunky, upbeat are just a few words that encapsulate Amy’s personality! Amy moved here from Calgary and loves her adorable cat/fur baby, Satchmo. Her contagious joy will surely have you leaving with a smile on your face.
